 Live Jazz is back in San Diego. KSDS and ElectricLouieLand Productions bring you the best of San Diego Jazz for ‘Jazz Night San Diego.’ Tune in at 5PM Pacific every Saturday night for a broadcast that features recently captured performances all around San Diego County. Gilbert Castellanos and some of his closest Jazz friends will be featured in concerts that will entertain and inspire. That’s Jazz Night San Diego, Saturday nights at 5PM Pacific, only on KSDS 88.3.

 March is Women's History Month and KSDS-FM is celebrating by shining the spotlight on the great female jazz pianists. Listen every weekday throughout the month to hear our daily featured artist. And, if you would like to nominate your own, please do when you make a pledge of support.

 On Monday, February 15th, KSDS will be celebrating a different kind of President. Join us as we salute the "PREZ," Lester Young. We will play his music throughout the day focusing on the different periods of his illustrious career. Featuring rare recordings, clips, interviews, and, so much more. KSDS gets Prezidential- beginning at 7am.

 February is Black History Month and KSDS-FM is celebrating by shining a light on The Bebop Era, 1945 to 1950. Join us every weekday to hear special audio vignettes that focuses on Bebop's notable legends and venues. If you contribute $100 or more at any point in February you will receive a special KSDS custom CD- "Live from the Royal Roost" sometimes referred to as The Metropolitan BOPera house.  We are thrilled to announce that we are back on the air live! For now, our Phase 1 live broadcasting will consist of Monday through Friday between the hours of 7AM to 3PM Pacific time. The hosts are Joe Kocherhans (7-9A). Gary Beck (9-11A). Claudia Russell (11A-1P) and Ron Dhanifu (1-3P). This is our first step to return to a 24/7 format. We look forward to adding more shows and hosts in the near future. Thank you for all your patience and support throughout 2020 and 2021.  Martin Luther King Jr. believed that Jazz was the soundtrack to the Civil Rights era. He loved Jazz and appreciated its cultural significance and its connection to his dream. Tune in to KSDS-FM and Jazz88.org This Monday at 7AM (Pacific) to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. Music related to the civil rights movement will be heard all day- Max Roach's "Freedom Now, We Insist," Oliver Nelson's "Black, Brown and Beautiful" and Sonny Rollins' "Freedom Suite," to name a few as well as commentary from San Diego resident and Jazz Legend, Charles McPherson. There will also be historical vignettes. This special day coincides with KSDS's return to live broadcasting since March of 2020 as the weekly Daytime M-F hosts return LIVE in our first phase of live broadcasting (M-F/7AM-3PM). That's right, KSDS is back to live broadcasting beginning this Monday, 7AM Pacific.

 KSDS/Jazz88.3 is kissing 2020 good-bye and ringing in the new year with the sounds of swingin' Big Bands! It's happening right now- "Big Bands Coast to Coast and Around the World!" It will be approximately 30 hours of classic Big Band music from greats like Dizzy, Basie and Ellington. You will also hear from Rob McConnell, Terry Gibbs, Gil Evans and so many more.  All the staff and hosts at KSDS want to thank so much for sticking with us this year. Your e-mails, phone messages and, of course, support has really lifted us up during these crazy times.We hope to see you in the new year and get back to some normalcy. We can't wait till we start having Jazz Live concerts again. We will let you know when that is possible.
