Holly Hofmann's jazz series continues this month at Tio Leo's Restaurant and Lounge at 5302 Napa St. at Morena Blvd. Jazz at Tio Leo's is happening every Sunday evening from 5-7pm and features Southern California's finest jazz musicians in a quiet, spacious setting with full bar and Mexican cuisine. There is also plenty of free parking. See this month's schedule below:

September

3 - Peter Sprague Sextet plays Cole Porter, featuring vocalist Rebecca Jade. 

10 - San Diego Jazz Legends Plus Two, featuring Mike Wofford, Marshall Hawkins and Jim Plank plus Bob Boss and Holly Hofmann.

17 - Vocalist Jonathan Karrant with Joshua White, Rob Thorsen and Tyler Kreutel.

24 - Louis Valenzuela Band plays Pat Metheny.

October

1- Graham Dechter/Alex Frank Quintet
Renowned L.A. jazz guitarist Graham Dechter and bassist Alex Frank have teamed up with drummer Kevin Kanner to lead an all-star band featuring a very special guest from NYC, saxophonist Joel Frahm!

8- Los Angeles Vocalist Judy Wexler-  with pianist Jeff Colella, bassist Rob Thorsen and drummer Tyler Kreutel.

15- L.A. Saxophonist Nicole McCabe Quartet- featuring pianist Joshua White, bassist Karl McComas-Reichl, and drummer Mark Ferber. One of the leading women jazz instrumentalists presents the music of the legendary Thelonius Monk.

22- No jazz at Tio Leo's today- Tio Leo's is encouraging everyone to attend the special day of music at Bread and Salt, raising funds for the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory!

29 - L.A. Jazz Pianist Josh Nelson, and the West Coast Jazz Hour Trio - Back by popular demand, pianist Josh Nelson returns, performing with his partners in the amazing West Coast Jazz Hour, which presents on-line interviews with many of the finest jazz artists on the West Coast. Eric Sittner, bass and Kevin van den Elzen, drums.
